Gel nail polish gives your nail a beauty satisfaction that you need. It is actually stronger than the ordinary nail polish. But it is also a pain in the ass when removing them in the salon, especially at home. So here’s a guide on how to remove your gel nail polish easily at home without destroying the health of your nails.
Tools you need:
- Cotton/Cotton balls
- Acetone
- Coarse nail file
- Aluminum foil
- Orange wood stick
What to do:
-
Since you will use acetone, use a cuticle oil or cream, or even Vaseline in the skin around your nails to provide protection to your skin. You can use cotton balls or cotton swab to for easier application or just use bare hands.
-
Use the coarse nail file to buff your nails. File the upper layer of the gel polish to make the acetone penetrate the gel polish better. Go slowly until you remove the upper layer.
-
Soak a small piece of cotton or cotton ball in acetone and place it on the nail. The best acetone to use is the pure acetone and not the standard nail polish remover.
-
Use aluminum foil to wrap and secure the cotton balls in place. Cut little squares or just the right size to fit to your nails.
-
Wait 10-15 minutes and let the acetone soak into your nails. After the waiting period, remove the aluminum foil along with the cotton balls. The gel polish should come off together with the cotton balls. Use an orangewood stick to clean off some gel polish residue.
-
If you want to skip all the aluminum, soaking, and using acetone, you should try using Arishine Magic Nail Polish remover. You just need to file the upper layer of the gel nail polish and apply Magic Nail Polish remover and wait for 3-5 minutes. Just that easy.
