If you are wearing a mask with filter, first remove the filter. Most face masks are made of cloth, you can wash it with your regular laundry or with hands.

For face masks with vent or valve

You should remove the vent first. Here is how you remove the vent:

Take out the vent cover with your nail easily, then you can remove the vent from your face mask.

My friend is a professional mask maker, and she suggested you'd better wash it with hands because the landry machine may damage the vent hole.

You need wash the mask and the vent with hands separately. Hang the mask under the sun to make it dry. Then put the vent back on the mask.
